Job Description The Principal Analyst, Epic MyChart serves as a senior technical and operational leader responsible for the design, build, optimization, and support of MyChart solutions that enhance patient engagement and digital access. This role requires current Epic MyChart certification and deep experience configuring patient‑facing workflows with a strong focus on patient experience, usability, and adoption. The ideal candidate brings proven expertise across virtual care, on‑demand services, pharmacy, and lab functionality, and partners closely with clinical, operational, and digital stakeholders to deliver scalable, innovative solutions that support organizational goals. The Principal Analyst plays a key role in shaping and delivering solutions that span virtual care, on‑demand capabilities, pharmacy, and lab, while balancing strategic priorities with day‑to‑day operational excellence. Success in this role requires the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, communicate clearly across technical and non‑technical audiences, and provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts to build team capability and ensure high‑quality outcomes. Essential Functions Provides support to stakeholders through analyzing and diagnosing problems to determine resolution. Gathers, validates, and translates technological requirements into design and development specifications while providing product management. Configures, tests, installs, implements, monitors, and maintains common and complex systems (applications, workflows, processes, and hardware). Documents and recommends workflow changes and technical/functional designs needed to support business requirements. Partners with external vendors to support related third‑party applications, including integration, implementation, support, and troubleshooting. Solves complex issues, incidents, and problems according to agreed service levels and department standards. Serves as project manager and completes PM functions for complex, cross‑functional projects, collaborating with the DTS Project Manager to organize, plan, and manage key initiatives and ensure effective handoff from demand intake through governance processes. Responsible for quality review of team projects, demand creation, and resource management processes, and creates remediation plans for any identified issues. Mentors and identifies training opportunities for teams, covering all technical duties of the department and demand management processes. Collaboratively works with peers, internal and external stakeholders, and vendors to develop best practices and standards for technical duties and demand management processes. Follows documentation and change management standards. Participates in the development of training and knowledge‑based materials for peers, end‑users, and team members. Configures and integrates electronic and mechanical hardware with software products to meet functional criteria of client specifications. Develops and understands business reporting needs for end‑users. Participates in on‑call and command center responsibilities. Develops and maintains comprehensive testing plans and scripts to verify system outputs and integrity. Attends and participates in team, project, and department meetings to increase awareness and information flow. Assists in creation, forecasting, and justification of project and team budget processes. Participates in vendor or industry user groups, community discussions, and/or Industry CAB sessions. Manages the portfolio of IT projects and initiatives for assigned business units, ensuring alignment with IT strategy and roadmap, prioritization of business needs, and delivery of business value. Facilitates workgroup, subcommittee, and hospital leadership meetings, advocating that leaders use data to make decisions. At project completion, uses benefit KPIs to track and aggregate actual benefits, reports to senior leaders, extrapolates long‑term lessons learned, and creates recommendations for future project governance. Provides detailed information regarding new projects to empower leaders to approve or decline work that is not critical or does not support strategy. Conducts service reviews with facility or medical group business executives, communicates and follows up on DTS survey results and improvement processes, and performs executive analysis of DTS project coordination. Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Excel (pivot tables), Visio, Project, PowerPoint, and Word. Possesses in‑depth business and application knowledge and experience. Knowledge of system analysis and operating systems typically used in a hospital setting. Skilled at assessing needs and determining the best approach through documentation. Skilled at defining problems and collecting data to establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and process documents. Ability to present information effectively and respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, managers, directors, senior leaders, and the general public. Ability to lead projects following principles and lifecycle phases of project management and control. Skilled in resource planning and strategic management. Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree required in information technology, healthcare, business, or a related field. Certification on one or more Epic applications is required and should be maintained. Eight (8) years of work experience in a healthcare setting, with one (1) year of application experience, preferably in Epic MyChart methodologies. Certification in Epic applications (or platform) and maintenance of that certification. Physical Requirements Operate computers and other IT equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands. See and read computer monitors and documents. Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work.
