Summary

The Calibration Technician / Facilities Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of mechanical, digital, and analog instrumentation in a cGMP-regulated environment. This role ensures equipment reliability, accuracy, and compliance by following established procedures, maintaining documentation, and utilizing various maintenance and quality management systems. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in instrumentation, electrical theory, and calibration, with experience supporting manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and on-demand calibration activities in accordance with cGMP procedures.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical, digital, and analog instrumentation.
• Apply electrical theory and instrumentation knowledge to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Complete all required safety, technical, and cGMP training.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and calibration documentation in compliance with GMP requirements.
• Utilize SAP, DMS, QMS, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other software tools to complete maintenance activities and documentation.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality standards to ensure equipment reliability and compliance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance and calibration processes.
• Ensure all work is performed safely while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, or a related technical field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in calibration, instrumentation, or industrial maintenance.
• Experience working in a cGMP-regulated manufacturing environment; biotechnology industry experience preferred.
• Technical military maintenance experience is also considered.
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory, instrumentation, and calibration principles.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, digital, and analog instrumentation.
• Proficiency with standard calibration and electronic test equipment.
• Working knowledge of DeltaV, Profibus, and HART instrumentation preferred.
• Experience with SAP, DMS, QMS, Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel); OneNote and Adobe Acrobat are a plus.
• ISA Level 1 certification or higher preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a high level of integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a regulated manufacturing environment.
