The Durable Slate Company is an award-winning historic roofing contractor specializing in slate, cedar/wood shake, copper, and clay-tile roofing . Established in 1986 , we are known nationwide for exceptional craftsmanship , safety , and preservation excellence . We’re currently hiring  Roofing Technicians who take pride in their work and are open to learning historic roofing using traditional methods and delivering high-quality work. Through our paid apprenticeship you will be able to master the art of historic roofing.
What You’ll Do

• Install, repair, and restore traditional slate, tile, cedar shake and copper roofing systems

• Work with natural slate, clay tile, copper flashing, and related materials

• Maintain safe, professional job sites and follow company safety standards

• Opportunity to travel to job sites locally and throughout the US with paid travel time and logistics support provided

• 1+ years roofing experience (any type, steep-slope preferred)

• Knowledge of  roofing  installation, repair techniques, and flashing details is preferred

• Comfort working at heights using ladders, lifts, and scaffolding

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Valid driver’s license with no more than 4 points (preferred), ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check required

• Commitment to quality craftsmanship, safety, and professionalism

• $23–$45+/hr. based on skill and experience

• Performance-based advancement opportunities
