Staff Therapist

PRN Therapist Overview The PRN therapist is expected to demonstrate expertise in: the ability to conduct group therapy, individual therapy, complete assessments, treatment planning and the utilization of SMART goals. The PRN therapist needs to be proficient in completing clinical documentation within a timely manner (48 hours).The focus of this position requires extensive knowledge in psychoeducation, crisis intervention, case management, substance abuse knowledge, appropriate referral sources, assessment completion, and treatment/discharge planning. This position will also perform other tasks related to the therapy needs of the office and the treatment needs of the patients. This position requires an extensive knowledge of: Microsoft Office, Google Drive, zoom and an EMR system. Support the patient’s progress toward recovery goals, improved social determinants of health scores, and patient health outcomes. Conduct group and individual sessions. Administer patient assessments as clinically indicated. Orient patients to the treatment program’s policies and procedures. Establish and build rapport with patients. Establish SMART goals with each patient and monitor progress. Conduct initial assessments and formulate individual plans of care. Includes activities related to managing and improving the care of the patient population across health, substance abuse and mental health treatment, and social service providers. Maintain licensure/certification and complete required CEU’s. Provide referrals outside of Cedar Recovery as clinically indicated. Report to the lead therapist in the office for supervision, guidance, and direction. Qualifications A master’s level degree in counseling or related field. Consideration of applicants will be weighed based on: Experience in the field Educational background: Master’s or higher in social work, counseling, and/or related field of study Work Environment This job operates in a professional treatment environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a part-time position. Operational hours of Cedar are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Cedar utilizes Microsoft teams to communicate coverage needs. The PRN staff would be added to this to be able to pick up groups as needed. Management may also reach out with specific needs or requests.
