Microbiology Technician

BA/BS in Life Sciences (e.g., Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Biology) with 1-3 years of lab-based Life Science and Microbiology experience Experience and ability to work in a team based BSLII laboratory environment Ability to lift 15 – 20 lbs. (food sample enrichments) Required Skills Microbiology techniques including but not limited to culture media preparation, culture preparation and propagation, and culture identification Experience working with pathogenic microorganisms Extensive practice in aseptic technique Experience in experimental planning, data interpretation, and proposing next steps to the management Experience and ability to work in a food microbiology and diagnostics environment Biohazard Safety Level II environment and/or microbiological environmental monitoring Experience in performing PCR and/or immunological assays Proficiency in Microsoft Excel strongly preferred Strong motivation, attention to detail, and ability to think independently and fully integrate into a high achieving team environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a diverse team environment Flexibility and ability to perform in a high-pressure environment Ability to execute and troubleshoot experiments independently Experience in Good Documentation Practices within a research environment Preferred Skills Experience in Good Documentation Practices within a research environment #J-18808-Ljbffr BuzzClan
