Job Summary:
A Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in inpatient care is needed in Peoria, Illinois, within a Level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This position involves assessing and providing intervention focused on feeding plans for preterm and medically complex infants. Candidates must bring their license on the first day and have NICU experience, especially in feeding of preterm and complex infants.

Job Details:

• Required Qualifications: Masters degree in speech-language pathology; active Illinois license or confirmation of application process; respective state temporary license with supervision of a Licensed Speech Pathologist for 18 months; respective state temporary license while completing Clinical Fellowship Year or respective state license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA); 2 years of experience; BLS Certification.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Speech Pathologist; valid state drivers license; ability to administer and evaluate standardized speech/language tests, conduct swallowing evaluations, develop treatment plans, and monitor patients' progress.
• Additional Information:
  • Position located within a NICU with a 65-bed capacity.
  • No unaccompanied work situations expected; floating to other units is unlikely but may include PICU/PIC departments if experience exists.
  • Equipment used includes EPIC for documentation.
  • Inpatient setting with family-centered, neuro-protective, trauma-informed care.
  • Dress code: Scrubs or business casual.
  • Shift start date: June 8, 2026.
  • Submission requires the last four digits of the clinician's SSN and confirmation of active Illinois license or application status.
  • The candidate must understand OSF is a Drug-Free Campus and produce a negative drug screen for all panels.
  • The position involves assessing feeding and swallowing functions in preterm and medically complex infants within a level 4 NICU.
