HYU Spiritual Life & Learning Society is building a End of Year Fundraising team & WE WANT YOU. Each year we seek volunteers who are open to assisting us in getting closer to achieving our vision of opening a learning house, a spiritual healthcare center & self health ministry within 1-3 years.

As we approach the close of this year, we are filled with gratitude for the sacred space we have cultivated. Our temple has become a sanctuary where individuals come to learn, grow, and connect with their inner world & inner selves. Through our teachings of self-study, spiritual health, and ethical living, we have seen countless transformations in our community.

The path to spiritual enlightenment is a personal one, yet it thrives within a collective environment of support, guidance and love. We are committed to maintaining and expanding this sacred space for all who seek peace, understanding and ethical teachings.

This year’s fundraising focus to promote our intention of being courageously powerful. Our intention is to have an enhanced space for a fully functioning & operational organization with nationwide reach that provide spiritual education resources that helps people to feel secure in their lives

Why does this fundraiser matter?

HYU is an independent, universal Temple. We started with courage, tenacity, boldness & heart without knowing what to do or how yet knowing that it needed to be done.

The need for a sacred space resonates deeply within us. The physical degradation of our bodies and Earth, the erosion of self-worth, the void of self-knowledge, emotional turbulence and the spiritual disconnection from our ancestry and nature— all these afflictions plague our existence. Generations have lost inheritance, language, culture and spiritual practices. We stand at a crossroads, yearning for restoration.

We provide a sacred space & intentional community for the reclamation & restoration of self. We offer a safe haven for knowing the self through Study of Self, Ethical Teaching & Spiritual Ceremony. We utilize Afrikan & American Indigenous Spiritual Systems.

We envision a world completely liberated through self mastery. Our mission is to provide a sacred space to restore an ancient spiritual foundation of knowing the self.

This Opportunity

This is a volunteer opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fundraising and community engagement while supporting HYU’s vision of building a spiritual learning house, healthcare center, and self-healing ministry.

As a fundraising Volunteer, you’ll have the option to contribute through one of our teams:

Community Engagement Team

• Promote participation in fundraising events and initiatives
• Work with local organizations, businesses, and residents to spread awareness of HYU’s mission
• Attend events and connect with the community
• Gather feedback to help assess program effectiveness

Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Team

• Create an individual fundraising page to share with friends, family, and colleagues
• Actively promote HYU’s “Being Courageously Powerful” fundraising campaign
• Encourage your network to support HYU’s vision through donations and awareness
