Job Description
Join a leading company that designs and manufactures electrical control systems specializing in monitoring and controlling liquids such as water, sewage, and wastewater. This company serves a diverse range of customers including residential, commercial, municipal, and industrial sectors. We are looking for a Benefits Specialist to manage and support all company-wide leaves and benefits programs.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support all company-wide leaves and benefits programs.
- Oversee benefits for approximately 600–700 employees, ensuring at least one annual touchpoint per employee.
- Administer and coordinate programs including wellness initiatives, leave programs (including FMLA), garnishments, workers’ compensation, and 401(k) and retirement plans.
- Partner with internal teams on safety programs, committees, and special projects.
- Collaborate with external vendors on benefits administration and services.
- Support employees across 13 U.S.-based facilities, focusing on benefits.
- Lead and support open enrollment planning and execution, especially during peak workload periods from August through November.
- Significant travel required during November for open enrollment to various locations to present and explain benefits to employees and support newly acquired locations with onboarding and benefits education.
- 5+ years of experience with a primary focus in benefits administration.
- Experience working strongly with vendors.
- Knowledge of multi-state benefits requirements and laws.
- Experience processing benefits for over 500 employees in mid to large-sized companies.
- Experience with UKG Altipro.
- Familiarity with Principal for 401(k) plans.
- Knowledge of BCBS for insurance vendor.
The role offers a flexible work environment with an in-office schedule of 3 days a week and work from home for two days. Typical work hours are from 8am to 5pm. The position is based in Minnesota (New Hope or Plymouth), but candidates in Birmingham or Ashland are also considered. Significant travel is required during peak periods, especially in November, with flexibility in scheduling during these times.
