Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor RN Located at the healthcare facility, this position involves providing high-quality nursing care to adult and pediatric patients. The role requires managing a range of diagnoses, including UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD, in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Job Details

• Position Description: Unit notes indicate a focus on adult and pediatric care with patient ratios of 1:4 during the day and 1:5 at night. The unit includes 17 beds, with 14 inpatient and 3 observation beds.
• Certifications Required: BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
• Educational and Experience Requirements: Valid nursing license, 1 year of RN experience required, with relevant certification.
• Schedule: Rotating shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, totaling at least 36 hours per week.
• Additional Responsibilities: RNs may be required to troubleshoot RT equipment like Vents, BiPAP, and High Flow systems. They will also apply tele monitors, read strips, and document diligently using MEDITECH charting system.
• Orientation: Includes one 12-hour shift or a combination of day and night orientation.
• Float Requirements: Float to Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit for one-to-one care as needed.
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs.
• Additional Notes: Success on this unit emphasizes communication, motivation, approachability, teamwork, and asking questions when uncertain. No hospitalist or pediatrician in-house but on-call coverage is available.
