Overview
Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) in Fort Defiance, Arizona. Start date: 07/12/2026. Travel assignment for 16 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,628–$2,841 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 3x12 Flex, primarily 12-hour Day shifts with flexibility to cover other shifts. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital providing Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and newborn care.

Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive L&D, postpartum, and newborn nursing care, including support for BFHI initiatives and mother-baby room-in
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications, assist with labor, delivery, and cesarean deliveries; respond to obstetric emergencies
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatal staff, and lactation consultants; may assume charge nurse duties after training
- Floats to other departments as needed within scope of practice; respond to call lights, assist with admissions/discharges, and maintain accurate documentation
- Educate patients and families on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, newborn care, safety, and breastfeeding

Requirements
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license for Arizona
- Minimum five (5) years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care
- Certifications: American Heart Association ACLS or ALSO; BLS; NRP; AWHONN Advanced FHM required (RNC‑EFM may substitute for AWHONN FHM)
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Ability to work in L&D, postpartum, and newborn settings; willingness to float to other departments as needed; flexibility to work weekends and holidays
