Responsibilities
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures, with emphasis on safety, comfort, and patient education
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, assist during operative procedures, and monitor patient status before, during, and after surgery
- Administer medications and perioperative medications as ordered, and assist with anesthesia-related tasks as appropriate
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, circulating nurses, and other team members to optimize patient outcomes and throughput
- Triage incoming patient requests and needs, respond to family inquiries, and ensure clear patient and family education regarding postoperative care and recovery
- Document accurately in the medical record, adhere to HIPAA and patient safety guidelines, and support a Just Culture approach

Requirements
- Current RN license in Colorado or a valid compact state license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a busy OR setting within a surgery center
- Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, critical thinking, and communication skills
- HIPAA compliance and accountability for patient privacy and safety

Education
- Active Registered Nurse license (no specific degree requirement noted beyond licensure)
