Senior Medical Science Liaison, NMOSD & gMG-Rare Disease - Western NC and SC

Amgen seeks a Senior Medical Science Liaison to build relationships with clinicians and medical experts across Western North Carolina and South Carolina, focusing on rare disease areas NMOSD and gMG. The role involves communicating scientific and medical information, identifying clinical needs, coordinating research collaborations, and monitoring competitive developments in rare disease therapeutics.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with medical thought leaders, academic institutions, and managed care decision makers
• Communicate scientific, medical, and health economic information about products to medical community
• Identify and pair customer unmet needs with internal resources and solutions
• Recruit and train external speakers for sponsored scientific speaker programs
• Monitor competitive landscape for therapeutic trends and provide feedback to senior leadership

Requirements

• Doctorate degree with 2+ years medical affairs experience, or Master's with 6+ years, or Bachelor's with 8+ years
• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. preferred
• 2+ years medical science liaison experience in biotech or pharmaceutical setting
• Exceptional oral and written communication with strong networking ability
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new business applications
• Willingness to travel up to 60% for territory management and conferences
• Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
