Baylor Scott & White Health has an opening for a Physician Assistant to join our Nephrology Team in Round Rock, Texas.

The ideal candidate should be focused on quality, and be able to effectively collaborate with referring physicians, agencies, and other professionals to provide optimum patient care within our award-winning integrated healthcare system.

Essential functions of the role include assessing the physical and mental condition of patients, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing treatments, counseling patients, maintaining records, and initiating timely consultations and referrals.

Key success factors include knowledge of medical diagnosis and treatment, communication skills, critical thinking, computer skills, ability to develop treatment plans, counseling skills, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.

Schedule includes 4-10-hr days, at least 1 year of clinical experience, clinic and dialysis rounding, outpatient care with plans to add inpatient later, 15 patients per day, nephrology/dialysis experience needed, potential travel to dialysis units in the Greater Austin Region, and work in Pflugerville.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited program, 1 year of experience, and certification/license/registration including Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer and a Physician Assistant (PA) license through the state of TX.
