The Ideal candidate has prior Speech Language Pathology experience working in acute care settings, including NICU experience.Job Responsibilities:Evaluates, diagnoses, develops and implements a treatment plan for patients of all diagnoses.Provides care for patients who present with a variety of medical conditions and deficits which impact communication, language development, oral motor skills, and feeding safety and efficiency.Diagnoses which commonly impact these developmental areas include prematurity, neurological, respiratory, cardiac, GI, genetic, craniofacial and developmental delay.Provides extensive patient/family education.Participates in multidisciplinary team care with other rehab professionals, nursing, physicians, dietitians, social services, respiratory, support staff, etc.Works in a fast-paced setting requiring good time management, detailed documentation skills in the EMR, self-directed, and effective communication skills.Experience Requirements:1 or more year(s) of pediatric acute care Speech Language Pathology Experience strongly preferredSpeech/Language ExperienceVoice and Neuro ExperienceEducation & Credential Requirements:Master of Science Or Master of Arts RequiredDoctorate of Arts/Science Or Master of Science PreferredCertificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology RequiredFlorida Department of Health Speech Language Pathologist License RequiredActive BLS certification from the American Heart AssociationWolfson Children’s Hospital is recognized among America’s Best Children’s Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report year after year and is a Magnet designated hospital, the gold standard for excellence in patient care.At Wolfson Children's Hospital, we provide an exceptional employment experience where team members can bring their authentic selves and belong to a larger purpose together.
