Job Title: General Laborer Job Description

This role supports a recycling sort line by handling materials at the back end of the process, primarily moving cardboard and paper after they have been sorted. You use basic hand tools, perform general labor tasks, and ensure materials flow efficiently through the production area. The position requires you to stand for the entire shift and repeatedly lift materials weighing up to 2025 pounds while maintaining a steady work pace and strong attention to detail.

• Work on the back end of the sort line to move materials after they have been sorted, with a focus on cardboard and paper recycling.
• Handle, load, and move materials safely and efficiently within a production and warehouse environment.
• Use hand tools to support material handling, assembly, packing, and related tasks as needed.
• Perform general labor duties such as packing, packaging, loading, and picking items according to work instructions.
• Maintain consistent attention to detail to ensure correct handling, sorting, and placement of materials.
• Keep up with the required work pace throughout the shift while standing for extended periods.
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 2025 pounds on a regular basis.
• Follow safety procedures when working around machinery, ladders, and stairs in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
• Arrive on time and maintain reliable attendance to support continuous production operations.

• Proven ability to perform general labor tasks in a production, warehouse, or material handling environment.
• Strong attention to detail when handling, sorting, and moving materials.
• Ability to keep up with a consistent work pace over the course of an entire shift.
• Capability to lift up to 2025 pounds on a regular and consistent basis.
• Comfort standing for the entire shift and performing repetitive physical tasks.
• Reliability in showing up to work consistently and following assigned schedules.
• Comfort using basic hand tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to perform tasks such as assembly, packing, packaging, loading, and picking as required.

• Experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing, or production setting.
• Familiarity with material handling processes, particularly in recycling or similar environments.
• Comfort working around sort lines and moving equipment.
• Willingness to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to completing assigned tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springfield, OR.

The pay range for this position is $20.14 - $20.14/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
