Staff Equipment Engineer, Mechanical — Fremont, CA(Full‑time, on‑site, 5 days a week) Responsibilities Support equipment across multiple manufacturing lines with varying complexity. Diagnose and repair manufacturing equipment, including automated systems. Commission new automated equipment and ensure all devices function as designed. Install, commission, and support vision systems for tracking and quality inspections. Perform engineering tasks in mechanical, electrical, and structural systems for testing, material handling, welding, and machining equipment. Oversee equipment installation and start‑up/implementation projects. Develop equipment specifications and documents for manufacturing assembly, testing, and material handling processes. Manage project timelines, financial planning, and prepare comprehensive status reports for leadership. Collaborate with vendors, facility engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production teams to manage project implementation. Identify opportunities to improve safety, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and enhance quality. Prepare or approve system as‑built drawings. Work flexible hours, including off‑shift and weekend shifts, as required by business needs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. 6+ years of experience as a Manufacturing or Equipment Engineer in a manufacturing environment. Experience in equipment requirement development and specification writing. Knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office suite. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand/walk for 8‑10 hours per shift. Occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 lbs. Use hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers. Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials. Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff. Ability to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodation. Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in required areas (e.g., safety glasses, safety‑toed boots).
