Schedule: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM-2:30 PM
Flexibility: 1st and 2nd shift opportunities are available. A later shift may be considered for a suitable candidate.
License Requirement: NYS Laboratory License Required

Job Description

Pride Health is hiring an experienced Histotechnician to support our client's laboratory in White Plains, NY . The ideal candidate will have experience with tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, slide preparation, staining, and other routine histology laboratory procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare slides for microscopic evaluation by pathologists.
• Process paperwork related to accessioning and reporting.
• Perform proper tissue processing.
• Perform embedding and microtomy for select specimen types.
• Prepare slides for routine Hematoxylin & Eosin (H&E) staining .
• Perform manual or automated coverslipping of stained slides.
• Perform special stains as directed by the Histology Manager/Supervisor.
• Maintain and clean laboratory equipment.
• File completed blocks and slides.
• Follow laboratory quality-control policies and document QC activities.
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and applicable local and federal regulations .
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• AA/AS degree + 1 year of relevant experience within the last 10 years , OR
• High school education/equivalent + 5 years of full-time acceptable Histotechnician experience within the last 10 years.
• HT (ASCP) certification or ASCP eligibility , OR 5 years of full-time relevant experience within the last 10 years.
• NYS Laboratory License required.
