Assistant Controller

About the Role We're looking for an Assistant Controller to support our Accounting department by managing general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting, while also overseeing accounts payable operations and vendor management. This role is a key resource for keeping our financial records accurate and provides backup support for payroll and contract job invoicing as needed. Responsibilities Administer Foundation software company-wide, helping the team get the most out of it Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations, journal entries/accruals, and capital asset reconciliations Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly reports Manage full-cycle accounts payable — invoice coding, entry, and payment; ACH transitions and check runs; vendor communications and confirmations; and new vendor onboarding (W-9s, ACH setup, filing) Process cash receipts in Foundation Maintain business documents and licenses; prepare credit applications and new bid documents Provide backup support for office coverage, payroll processing, and contract job invoicing Serve as the primary liaison with our IT services provider for computer and network related issues Qualifications 3+ years of accounting or general ledger experience, preferably in the construction industry (preferred) Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (preferred); equivalent experience considered Experience with ERP software implementation (preferred) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Strong communication skills and a dependable, adaptable approach to a fast-paced office Benefits & Compensation Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year 401(k) 401(k) matching Flexible spending account Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Technical Training & Certification EGSA OSHA Safety Training License support with Journeyman or Master's License #J-18808-Ljbffr
