Field Reliability Engineering Technician, Powertrain

Overview The Field Reliability Team mission is to determine the root cause of issues and opportunities to improve Tesla’s products by reducing customer-facing problems, in collaboration with other Engineering teams. Engineers and Technicians on the team are responsible for a wide variety of vehicle product systems for existing models. This is a contributor role that includes extensive hands-on work focused on failure analysis and root cause activities. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician who will execute a variety of technical tasks to support ongoing failure analysis activities. The successful candidate will work directly with Field Reliability Engineers to perform the sample preparation, electrical testing, mechanical inspection, tear downs and other analytical work. The successful candidate should have experience working in a lab environment or similar manufacturing environment. They will need to become intimately familiar with the use of common analytical lab equipment and techniques such as PCBA rework, electronic probing, and microscope use, among others. The candidate must have exceptional attention to detail, ability to follow step-by-step instructions, excellent communication skills, and be a team player.
