About the role: CHANEL is looking for a Senior Manager, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Technical Architect, to join our TECH CRM team in New York City. In this role, you will play a key part in overseeing the SF Marketing platform and supporting the broader Marketing Technology ecosystem. Your responsibilities will include setting technical standards, ensuring release quality, guiding integration and data design decisions, and focusing on reducing repeat incidents to streamline campaign builds and enable secure data integration. The Marketing Cloud Technical Architect must understand Client Data and Martech landscape and lead the development of advanced client analytics capabilities. This role interfaces with multiple internal teams (Fashion, F&B, WFJ, Client Analytics, Legal DCX, and various Tech Functions) and is a key partner to develop technically sound solutions for a complex luxury retail environment. Reporting to the Senior Group Director of CRM Technology and Client Analytics, you will be responsible for the success of technical architecture, integration, and best practices related to Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Minimum 7 years in Salesforce Marketing Technology and a passion for leading product evolution are required. Integrate seamlessly: oversee Salesforce Marketing Cloud connectivity with CRM, client engagement channels, and personalization platforms to ensure a unified client experience. Ensure smooth data operations: develop APIs, data connectors, and middleware for real‑time data flow, enabling accurate and timely insights across teams. Optimize automations: build and refine advanced automations using Automation Studio and Journey Builder, leveraging scripting to personalize every client interaction. Drive personalization technology: lead the technical integration of dynamic content, segmentation, and personalization logic. Champion data excellence: model client data, orchestrate ETL processes, and define data extension strategies that support marketing objectives. Safeguard data integrity: maintain data hygiene, security, and compliance across all integrated systems. Set technical standards: establish and enforce best practices in coding, documentation, and platform management. Mentor and empower: guide and train developers, administrators, and marketers on SFMC capabilities. Lead collaboration: act as the technical bridge between business stakeholders, tech, and Salesforce support. Promote data literacy: document and explain data models to enable confident access to client data. Enable self‑service: develop reusable query templates, dashboards, and reports. Ensure compliance: implement stringent data privacy standards and conduct regular audits. Support insights: extract, transform, and analyze large datasets using SQL, build and maintain dashboard visualizations. What you will bring to the team: Minimum of 7 years of hands‑on technical architecture experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other leading marketing automation platforms. In‑depth understanding of marketing data processing, including segmentation, transformation, and audience management. Strong analytical skills with proficiency interpreting data and optimizing campaigns. Excellent communication and presentation skills, conveying technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Proficiency with data integration tools and processes for connecting Salesforce Marketing Cloud to other systems. Experience with API integrations, ETL processes, and third‑party data connectors relevant to marketing platforms. Knowledge of data privacy regulations (CCPA, GDPR) and best practices. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, resolve data issues, and ensure data quality. Collaboration skills in cross‑functional teams and managing multiple projects. Communication with technical and executive stakeholders. Position Logistics: Based in New York City with a hybrid work model – 3 days on‑site minimum in Midtown Manhattan (NYC preferred; office in Piscataway, NJ considered). Minimum of 7 years of experience in Technical Architecture with at least 5 years of Salesforce Marketing Cloud expertise. Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator certification strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; master’s degree is a plus. Compensation: Anticipated base salary range: $87,500 – $190,000. Base salary is one component of total compensation. Variable pay, bonus potential, benefits, and perks may also be offered.
