Fractional CFO

Fractional Chief Financial Officer

Our client, an early-stage software company, is seeking a Fractional Chief Financial Officer to professionalize its finance function and support its next phase of growth. 

This role is fully remote and has an anticipated duration of 6 to 9 months. 

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a strategic finance advisor to executive leadership on growth planning, resource allocation, and key business decisions
• Build and maintain the company’s operating model, budget, forecasts, cash projections, and long-range financial plan
• Improve forecast accuracy through detailed variance analysis, performance tracking, and alignment with actual operating costs
• Prepare financial models, presentations, diligence materials, and data-room support for future fundraising activities
• Lead board-level financial reporting and communicate performance, risks, opportunities, and key business drivers
• Define and monitor recurring-revenue metrics and other KPIs related to growth, spending, liquidity, and operating performance
• Oversee outsourced accounting resources and review monthly financial results for accuracy and completeness
• Strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, reporting cadence, and finance workflows to support future scale

Requirements:

• Progressive finance and accounting leadership experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Head of Finance, or comparable senior finance leader
• Experience supporting early-stage, venture-backed software or recurring-revenue businesses
• Advanced financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash-planning capabilities
• Demonstrated experience supporting fundraising, financial diligence, investor communications, and board reporting
• Proven ability to advise founders and executive teams while building scalable finance processes and overseeing outsourced accounting operations

• Office location and other geographic considerations; 
• Other business and organizational needs.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
