Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant

Assist the Statutory Reporting unit with the daily tasks related to the compilation of Statutory financial statements, reconciliations, process enhancement and other critical Statutory accounting and reporting projects as the number of health insurance entities has grown significantly The position will play a critical role in the preparation of accurate and timely financial reporting as required by the various state regulatory authorities in which the entities are licensed Additionally, this role will be assigned to a new business initiative regarding the accounting for reinsurance Our Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant will be a key report to our Senior Statutory Reporting Manager Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Statutory financial statements to ensure timely and accurate presentation to the NAIC and the appropriate state regulatory authorities (Health Statement) Prepare all supplemental filings that accompany the quarterly and annual Statutory financial statements as required by the appropriate state regulatory authorities Support and assist in various Department/Division of Insurance audits by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and adhering to deadlines Support and assist in testing the development of NetSuite and other ad hoc reports to facilitate the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual Statutory financial statements Assist in the filing of the monthly, quarterly and annual Statutory financial statements using appropriate vendor software, submit filings to the NAIC, and individual states while adhering to all deadlines Lead and participate in ad hoc projects supporting Statutory Reporting and Finance needs as they arise (e.g., reinsurance accounting) Ability to work overtime as necessary during peak reporting periods Responsibilities also will entail assisting in the review of certain Statutory financial statements and supplemental filings as necessary Benefits Comprehensive health plan 401K retirement plan Lyra mental health resources Generous vacation and holiday time Stock options Ability to identify actions necessary to complete tasks and obtain resultsAdvance excel proficiency, including experience with complex formulasStrong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines on a consistent basisA demonstrable track record of success / delivery in a changing and complex financial reporting environmentExcellent documentation and organizational skillsAbility to operate in a fast-paced environment where every day we try to develop and optimize our operations and processesMust be analytical, hands on, and expected to be an immediate contributorAbility to adhere to policies and proceduresMaintain high ethical standards at all times, to include maintaining the confidentiality of financial and other sensitive information consistent with professional and regulatory requirements and standardsReinsurance accounting experience - from implementation to reportingHands-on experience with NetSuite (ERP) and Workiva (Wdesk) is a significant plusA dynamic team player who is highly motivated, a self-starter, can demonstrate great initiative, and is customer-service orientedAbility to independently manage multiple demands and meet deadlinesExperience with healthcare and insurance industriesExperience with review of statutory filingsExposure in leveraging AI tools to automate complex financial reconciliations, improve the accuracy of statutory filings, and streamline data collection across multiple jurisdictions #J-18808-Ljbffr
