Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Newark, NJ

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend required.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) with over 1.5 years of acute care pediatric experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pediatric oncology and chemotherapy administration, providing high-quality care to patients in a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients, including those with hematology/oncology needs.
• Administer chemotherapy and other medications in accordance with treatment protocols.
• Manage IV therapy, including starting and maintaining IVs and care of central lines and ports.
• Perform assessments and deliver nursing interventions based on patient needs.
• Support feeding methods for infants including breastfeeding and bottle feeding.
• Promote infection prevention practices and adhere to isolation precautions.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at the time of submission.
• Current certifications in BLS and PALS.
• 1.5+ years of acute care pediatric experience.
• Experience with chemotherapy and oncology required.
