ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse to join our team on a stepdown unit. This position includes overseeing up to three patients and requires strong clinical skills in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage patient care for individuals with respiratory diseases, neurological disorders, and chronic illnesses.
Administer infusions and medications, including insulin, cardizem, heparin, Lasix, precedex, and low-dose pressors.
Utilize the EMR system (Epic) for accurate documentation and patient management.
Participate in patient assessments and collaborate with clinical staff to provide comprehensive care.
Adhere to safety protocols and best practices while caring for patients.
Float to assist other units as needed, prioritizing team support and patient care.

Qualifications

Current BLS certification (American Heart Association required).
ACLS certification.
A minimum of 2 years of experience as an ICU Registered Nurse.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with strong patient advocacy skills.

Work Schedule

Weekend Requirement: 5 shifts every 6 weeks.
Holidays: Required to work every other holiday.
Shifts: Rotation between day and night shifts.

Additional Information

The unit has a total of 24 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3.
Orientation for new staff is provided over three days.
Scrubs must adhere to the uniform policy: navy blue pants and solid navy blue or solid white tops. Long sleeve shirts under scrubs must also be navy or white.
