After six months of employment, some positions may be eligibleto apply for a hybrid work arrangement based on jobresponsibilities, operational needs, supervisor approval, andDallas College policy. Academic (Faculty) positions require an on-campus presence,even when teaching online courses, in accordance with statelaw. Position Type Staff POSITION SUMMARY Provides assistance to the director and/or program coordinatorin planning, developing, and the general operation of a specificgrant and/or a specific district-based program. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintainrecords, generate reports. Able to assist students with assessment, course selection, andprogress monitoring. Provides excellent customer service to students andclients. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding content of allprograms, child, family and staff records. Must have strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task,detail-oriented approach to work, strong decision-making skills,good follow-up, ability to complete tasks. Able to adhere to the district, college and departmentpolicies, procedures, and practices. Must be able to recruit prospective students from the generalcollege population to meet specific grant/programrequirements. Excellent oral and written communication skills in order toeffectively interact with individuals within the Dallas Collegecommunity. Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customerservice. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Normal physical job functions performed within a standard officeenvironment. Occasionally may be required to lift and carrymaterials weighing up to 10 pounds. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma plus four (4) years of experience. Bilingual preferred. *** Will be subject to a criminal background check. Somepositions may be subject to a fingerprint check. *** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Primary resource person for students; provides programinformation, and enrollment process to current and prospectivestudents. Assists the director/program coordinator in coordinating andpreparing special reports, answers requests for information, whichmay include compiling and summarizing data from files/records. Screens calls, visitors, and mail; requisitioning supplies andequipment; composing correspondence, verifying operating reportsfor accuracy and implementing changes where required. Coordinates the integration of various grant/program serviceswith existing college services. Maintain complex division files including highly confidentialinformation about students, and evaluations profile (IAP, GPA, andfinancial aid needs). Interacts with District Resource Development staff to stayabreast of reporting needs and documentation requirements. Performs bookkeeping functions and monitors allocatedbudgets. Plan, coordinate and manage day-today activities of a stafflargely comprised of part-time employees, students, tutors and/orvolunteers. Analyzes prospective student eligibility based on programrequirements. Utilizes excellent communication skills and the ability tointeract with internal/external stakeholders and constituentswithin the Dallas College community network. Provide excellent customer service. Completes required Dallas College Professional Developmenttraining hours per academic year. Performs related duties as assigned.
