Senior Accountant

Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing industrial services/energy services company headquartered in Northwest Houston. As the organization continues to expand, they are seeking a Senior Accountant to join their accounting team and support the company's ongoing growth initiatives. Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of the business, including project accounting, billing, accounts payable, financial reporting, analysis, and special projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, experience in industrial services, construction, or energy-related industries, and a solid understanding of Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process customer billings and project invoicing
• Manage accounts payable functions and vendor relationships
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities
• Support Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting and project cost tracking
• Prepare account reconciliations and journal entries
• Assist with financial reporting and management reporting packages
• Analyze project profitability, costs, and financial performance
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis efforts
• Assist with audits and compliance requirements
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects
• Work closely with operations and project management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• 3+ years of general accounting experience
• Experience in industrial services, construction, engineering, energy services, or a related project-based industry preferred
• Hands-on experience with Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting required
• Construction accounting experience strongly preferred
• Experience supporting project-based accounting environments
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting/ERP systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment

Preferred Experience

• Construction or industrial contracting environment
• Oil & gas, energy services, engineering, fabrication, field services, or related industries
• Project accounting and job cost accounting
• ERP system experience
