The attorney will handle, defend, litigate, and resolve cases, including depositions, administrative hearings, and court appearances. Location This position involves appearances before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, in the Van Nuys or Marina del Rey District office. The role requires both in‑person and virtual appearances and may include state travel. Responsibilities Collaborate with internal and external clients Draft pleadings, correspondences, and other legal documents Conduct discovery and support case development Participate in settlement discussions and negotiations Appear in court, including trials Qualifications Licensed attorney in California Prior experience in workers’ compensation law is an advantage but not required Newly admitted attorneys are highly encouraged to apply Special Requirements Position requires a background investigation clearance prior to hire Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California’s Personal Leave Program 2025 reduces an employee’s monthly salary in exchange for leave credits.
