Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room provides expert nursing care to patients experiencing urgent and emergent health issues. They work collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver quality, immediate care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' conditions upon arrival and throughout their stay in the emergency department.
• Administer IV medications, blood products, and therapies as needed to stabilize patients.
• Document nursing actions, observations, patient responses, and education accurately and promptly.
• Assume charge nurse and preceptor roles when required to facilitate patient flow and team support.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-discharge care instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license without recent employment history at St. Mary's.
• Minimum of 2 years of emergency room nursing experience.
• At least 1 year of critical care nursing experience in an emergency setting.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including charge nurse and preceptor duties as needed.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
