Job Description We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Drilling Consultant / Drilling Supervisor to provide onsite drilling oversight for exploratory and development wells. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling operations while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory, environmental, and company standards. The successful candidate will act as the primary onsite authority for drilling execution, coordinating rig operations, service companies, and support personnel. This position requires strong leadership, technical drilling expertise, and the ability to manage complex operational situations in real time while ensuring alignment between field operations and office-based planning teams. Responsibilities Provide onsite drilling oversight for exploratory and development wells. Ensure safe execution of drilling operations with a strong focus on personnel safety and environmental protection. Ensure full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Develop and execute drilling plans to optimize operational efficiency and well delivery performance. Manage and respond to all operational situations involving rig activity and onsite personnel. Monitor, track, and control drilling costs and operational expenditures. Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and daily drilling documentation. Maintain effective communication between office-based teams and rig operations. Coordinate and evaluate service company performance and operational execution. Provide office-based operational support when required. Review and optimize drilling programs, procedures, and execution plans. Assist in the development of drilling documentation, manuals, and operational guidelines. Participate in emergency response planning and onsite preparedness activities. Support permitting processes and ensure drilling activities align with approved authorizations. Ensure adherence to drilling schedules, safety standards, and performance objectives. Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent non-productive time. Provide leadership and oversight to drilling personnel and service providers onsite. Skills and Qualifications Typically 15+ years of experience in drilling operations, wellsite supervision, or drilling consulting roles. Extensive experience in onshore drilling operations for exploratory and development wells. Strong knowledge of drilling engineering principles, well control, and rig operations. Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary field operations and service company coordination. Strong understanding of drilling cost control, budgeting, and operational efficiency metrics. Experience ensuring regulatory compliance and safety performance in drilling environments. Ability to develop and optimize drilling programs and execution strategies. Strong decision-making skills in high-pressure operational environments. Excellent communication skills with ability to interface between field and office teams. Experience reviewing and improving drilling procedures and operational documentation. Ability to lead operational execution through senior field personnel and contractors. Strong organizational and leadership capabilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience in unconventional resource plays and high-activity drilling programs. Experience supporting both exploratory and development drilling campaigns. Strong background in drilling optimization and performance improvement initiatives. Experience with emergency response coordination and well control situations. Prior experience working as a Drilling Consultant, Drilling Supervisor, or Senior Wellsite Representative. Work Environment Field-based onsite drilling operations environment. Exposure to active drilling rigs, service equipment, and high-intensity operational activity. Requires ability to work in remote locations and extended operational schedules. High-responsibility role with direct impact on safety, cost, and operational performance.
