Temporary Part-Time Research Nurse

Temporary Part-Time Research Nurse The Department of Public Health and Health Sciences is seeking temporary part‑time research nurses to join a research team conducting studies on risk factors for alcohol misuse in young adults. Key Responsibilities Conduct medical history interviews during screening appointments. Perform ECGs and phlebotomy/blood sample collection. Evaluate vital signs including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, respirations, height, weight, and BMI. Determine study eligibility. Prepare IV lines and pumps for IV administration sessions. Prepare participants and connect them to the IV. Monitor IV pump functioning and assist with any errors. Attend to participant well‑being during and after the infusion process. Administer IV of both ethanol and saline as part of study tasks. Qualifications Must be a Registered Nurse (RN). Experience with phlebotomy required. Experience working with IVs required. Schedule & Commitment Week‑to‑week per diem hours available for nurses who work full‑time elsewhere. Set schedule of up to 20 hours per week to accommodate parent schedules, semi‑retirement, etc. Position may be renewed beyond 6 months pending availability of grant funds.
