Position Summary

Assured Guaranty is seeking to hire a Product Software Developer intern to join our Secondary Market team in the New York office. As a member of our group, you will work closely with business analysts, product owners, and other engineers to build front-ends and/or back-ends for advanced products powered by data, AI or advanced analytics that will scale our Secondary Market business operations. We are looking for someone with a passion for technology, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and collaboration.

Job Responsibilities

  • Help design, develop, or maintain scalable business products.
  • Build responsive user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular), HTML, and CSS
  • Build robust server-side logic and services using languages such as Python, Java, C#, or Node.js.
  • Integrate with databases and manage data flows between front-end and back-end systems.
  • Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and promote best practices.
  • Debug issues, fix defects, and optimize application performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver products that meet business needs.
  • Work with IT partners to ensure application security, reliability, and scalability.
  • Document processes, configurations, and technical decisions.

Candidate Background & Qualifications

  • Seeking Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Proven experience in front-end and/or back-end development.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern front-end framework (React, Angular, etc.)
  • Proficiency in either Python, Java, C#, Node.js, etc.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, web services, and database integration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and present assignments concisely and accurately.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently, maintaining accountability over assigned tasks.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

The salary for the position is expected to be from $30 per hour to $32 per hour. The actual salary will depend on various factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience and credentials, salary expectations of applicable candidates, and other applicable market conditions.
