Description of Work The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for providing strategic, consultative HR services to leadership, managers, and employees. Collaborates with leadership on culture-building strategies, and long-term workforce planning to support recruitment, engagement, and retention. Works to identify, establish, and track key HR metrics to evaluate program effectiveness, organizational competency gaps, and provide analysis for strategic decision-making. Monitors functional team deliverables, engages in problem resolution and contributes to process improvement. Collaborates with DHHS HR Leadership and Operational Services on change management, efficiencies, and key HR initiatives. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $67,122.00 - $117,465.00 Salary Range: $67,122.00 - $117,465.00 Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Strong knowledge of HR laws, policies, organizational practices, and the ability to interpret and apply them across strategic and operational contexts. Skill in partnering with leaders on policy decisions, workforce planning, organizational culture, and overall organizational effectiveness. Ability to analyze, interpret, and present HR metrics and workforce data to support informed, strategic decision-making. Strong skills in identifying issues, improving processes, monitoring deliverables, and enhancing HR operations. Effective relationship-building and communication skills to work across HR and operational teams, convey guidance and insights, and support employee relations and development needs. Per G.S. 126-5 (c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7. This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And _ Must _ Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events. This position is located at J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center This position will work Monday - Friday - 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM About the DHHS Division of Human Resources The Division of Human Resources (DHR) provides strategic and operational leadership for DHHS human capital management, including employee relations, recruitment and selection, job evaluation, salary administration, benefits, workers’ compensation, safety, and staff development. Supplemental Contact Information: DHHS uses the Merit-Based Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Human Resources Act with the most qualified individuals. Hiring salary will be based on relevant qualifications, internal equity, and budgetary considerations pertinent to the advertised position. Bachelor’s degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and at least 4 years of experience in human resources with some experience in an HR lead position; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
