Laboratory Technician

job summary:
Step into an essential long-term contract role as a Laboratory Technician I with a Top-Tier Global Leader in Fort Wayne, IN. Operating on a 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM shift with weekend coverage required, this position focuses on monitoring, testing, and maintaining critical pretreatment and e-coat systems. You will perform essential chemical analyses to ensure optimal process performance, high product quality, and strict environmental compliance in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

responsibilities:

• Perform titrations, chemical analyses, and routine laboratory testing on pretreatment and e-coat systems.
• Monitor system integrity, evaluate performance data, and make process adjustments to ensure quality.
• Verify proper e-coat rectifier settings and assist with equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Document test results, process data, and measurements accurately in electronic databases and logs.
• Maintain laboratory and process areas in accordance with 5S principles and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot process, quality, and equipment issues while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

 
qualifications:
Required:

• Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical procedures, specifications, and work instructions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data entry systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication capabilities.
• Ability to work weekends, learn quickly, and routinely climb stairs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and work safely around chemical systems wearing required PPE.

Preferred:

• Experience with titrations, pretreatment, e-coat, wastewater, or DI/RO industrial systems.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and environmental compliance requirements.
