Tool and Die Technician

SUMMARY: The Tool and Die Technician is responsible for disassembling and reassembling injection molds for preventative maintenance purposes:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

• Operate overhead crane up to 40 Tons, forklift, milling machine, and horizontal lathe, surface grinder, powered hand tools.
• Operate TIG welder:
  • Requires coordination between both hands and a foot
  
  
  Operate dry-ice blasting equipment:
  • requires use of both hands at same time
  
  
  Disassemble and reassemble injection molds for preventative maintenance purposes:
  • May need to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Disassembly requires use of various hand tools, including pneumatic and electric powered tools/
  • Working and troubleshooting electrical issues with the molds, up to 240 volts.
  • Needs good problem- solving skills when faced with issues during PM process
  • On feet for the duration of the shift
  • Need to have the ability to climb and enter an injection molding machine which may entail working on a 3 to 6 foot step ladder

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Must have high school diploma and previous automotive experience.
