We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer/Architect to join our team supporting and modernizing the Vision platform - a critical legacy system at the heart of our fund management operations. Vision is a complex, Legacy platform written in proprietary language similar to Java/J2EE m Unix with deep Object-Oriented and Smalltalk roots. This is not a routine maintenance role.

Mandatory Skills-

Java /J2EE Strong, production-grade command of Java (8+), J2EE architecture , and related enterprise patterns. Ability to read, debug, and extend mature codebases.
OOP & Design - Deep understanding of Object-Oriented principles - encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, SOLID principles, and design patterns (GoF). Ability to reason about complex class hierarchies.
Legacy Fluency - Comfort navigating underdocumented legacy systems. Ability to reverse-engineer behaviour through code reading, profiling, and test-driven exploration rather than relying on spec docs . Ability to use AI tools to reverse engineer legacy code
AI Engineering Tools - Good knowledge of AI tools like GitHub Copilot or equivalent , LLMs , MCP servers
Architecture - Hands-on experience with monolith-to-services decomposition, REST API design, and cloud-ready patterns (AWS or equivalent). Familiar with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
