Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver direct nursing care for assigned ICU patients, including patient and family education and transitions of care
• Plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of nursing care in alignment with professional nursing practice standards
• Delegate patient care tasks appropriately based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, and available resources
• Provide informal leadership through preceptor roles, mentoring, and participation in quality improvement efforts
• Maintain excellent communication with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families throughout the care continuum

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accredited); if not accredited, at least one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting within the last 5 years is required
• Current RN license meeting applicable state requirements
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience
• Minimum 6 months of travel nursing experience required
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• BCLS certificate of course completion required for Midwest placements; must not expire within 3 months of start date

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 1 year of recent travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience with ventricular assist devices (VAD), Impella, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), and/or balloon pumps
• Experience in Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, or Multispecialty ICU settings; CRRT and/or transplant experience a plus
• Previous Epic charting experience; CCRN certification preferred
