Licensed Group Leader – Talawanda Middle School

Are you a licensed behavioral health professional who is passionate about helping middle schoolers build skills, navigate challenges, and achieve meaningful progress? Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is seeking a Licensed Group Leader to serve as the clinical lead for daily school-based day treatment services.

In this role, you’ll plan, facilitate, and bill therapeutic day treatment services while creating a structured, trauma-informed environment that supports client development and well-being. You’ll facilitate evidence-based group therapy, implement behavior support and crisis management strategies, collaborate with families and school personnel, and contribute to individualized treatment planning.

Job Responsibilities

Lead Clinical & Direct Client Services

• Serve as the clinical lead responsible for planning, facilitating, documenting, and billing daily day treatment services.
• Foster a structured, therapeutic group environment that promotes safety, engagement, and growth.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and school personnel.
• Develop and implement Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and crisis management strategies.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate documentation.
• Use CPI and de-escalation techniques during crisis situations.

Collaborate with Families, Schools & Treatment Teams

• Prepare for and actively participate in supervision and case consultations.
• Collaborate with assigned internal and external partners to meet client and program goals.
• Participate in weekly treatment team meetings.
• Maintain regular communication with schools and guardians.
• Use trauma-informed and strength-based communication strategies.
• Contribute to coordinated services that address individual client needs.

Support Quality & Clinical Effectiveness

• Contribute to quarterly quality targets and program goals.
• Use data to inform treatment planning, clinical decision-making, and documentation.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments to determine appropriate levels of care.
• Develop and implement treatment objectives based on client needs.
• Maintain compliance with applicable licensure and professional standards.
• Support the delivery of consistent, high-quality therapeutic services.

Manage Administrative & Documentation Responsibilities

• Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
• Update schedules in Credible prior to the start of each work week.
• Use Credible reports to track outcomes and performance.
• Apply appropriate billing codes and location types.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable privacy regulations across all settings.
• Complete required administrative tasks in ADP.
• Ensure the group room is prepared and stocked with necessary materials.

Qualifications

• Active professional licensure in the State of Ohio: LSW, LPC, MFT, LISW, LPCC, IMFT
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred.
• Experience working in office, school, and mental health treatment settings.
• Demonstrated ability to implement behavior modification strategies as trained.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and standard Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with clients, families, school personnel, and treatment team members.
• Commitment to trauma-informed, strength-based, and client-centered care.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including participation in safety interventions and restraint techniques.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position involves working across office, school, and mental health treatment environments. Employees may work with children who experience behavioral challenges and may encounter shouting, verbal aggression, physical aggression, and exposure to blood, vomit, or other bodily fluids.

The role requires the ability to:

• Sit, stand, walk, and bend regularly.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Perform sustained physical exertion as required.
• Participate in safety interventions, including restraint techniques and required safety exercises.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
