Medical Assistants are essential members of the clinic team. They contribute to the healthcare of patients by assisting with exams and procedures, organizing and managing patient flow, and taking on other responsibilities based on the needs of the department. Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant Minimum Education Level: High School Diploma/GED Minimum Field of Study: Minimum Education Notes: Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools) Nursing Students who are actively enrolled in a BSN program and completed nursing fundamentals can apply for the position and be hired as Medical Assistant. Such Team Members need to maintain active enrollment status and need provide proof of enrollment at the beginning of every semester. Preferred Education Level: Preferred Field of Study: Preferred Education Notes: Associate's Degree Licensure Certification Needed: Yes Minimum Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS)Other (If other, please enter details in section to the right) Minimum Licensure (Other): CMA - Certified Medical Assistant Certification or Registration from one of the following organizations: American Medical Technologist (RMA-Registered Medical Assistant) National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA-Nationally Certified Medical Assistant) National Healthcare Association (CCMA-Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) National Association for Health Professionals (NRCMA- Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant) Or, if a current Moffitt Medical Assistant, must receive Certification from one of the above organizations within one year of date of transfer. In lieu of CMA, successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program; or Applicable Military Medical Training; or Students who are actively enrolled in a BSN program, have completed nursing fundamentals and can provide proof of enrollment at the beginning of every semester. Training Required: Salary Range $20.64 - $31.47 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role.
