Manager, Accounting Advisory

We are seeking a high-performing accounting and finance professional to join a growing advisory practice. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in public accounting and audit who wants to broaden their experience beyond traditional accounting and move into a more dynamic, client-facing advisory role. Unlike a traditional audit or corporate accounting position, this role offers exposure across a wide range of engagements spanning M&A, finance, accounting, operations, technology, and strategic initiatives. You will work directly with senior leadership and clients on complex projects that can range from transaction due diligence and technical accounting to valuation work, financial modeling, systems implementations, forensic analysis, and process transformation. The position is intentionally hybrid in nature. While strong accounting fundamentals are critical, successful candidates will develop a much broader advisory skill set and gain exposure to the financial and operational decisions impacting businesses throughout periods of growth, transformation, acquisition, and other significant events. Key Responsibilities Depending on the client and engagement, responsibilities may include: Lead and execute advisory engagements across accounting, finance, transaction support, and operational improvement Support buy-side and sell-side M&A due diligence, including quality of earnings, working capital analysis, financial statement review, and identification of key transaction considerations Perform financial analysis, modeling, and valuation work to support transactions, strategic initiatives, and management decision-making Assist clients with complex and technical accounting matters, including researching accounting guidance and developing practical recommendations Support financial reporting initiatives, including preparation and review of financial statements, management reporting, and related deliverables Conduct forensic accounting and financial analysis related to transaction, litigation, compliance, or other special situations Evaluate existing accounting and finance processes and identify opportunities to improve controls, reporting, efficiency, and scalability Participate in finance transformation and systems implementation projects, including ERP and financial reporting technology initiatives Work with client leadership to understand business challenges that extend beyond the general ledger and develop practical solutions Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high level of quality and client service Prepare and present analyses, findings, and recommendations directly to clients and senior stakeholders Collaborate with professionals across accounting, finance, operations, technology, and executive leadership Mentor and oversee junior professionals as appropriate Contribute to the continued growth and development of the advisory practice Why This Role This opportunity is particularly compelling for an audit professional who enjoys the analytical and client-facing aspects of public accounting but wants broader exposure than a traditional audit career provides. Forensics & Special Situations Investigative analysis, forensic accounting, and complex financial reviews. Finance Transformation Process improvement, internal controls, reporting enhancements, and development of scalable accounting and finance infrastructure. ERP implementations, financial systems optimization, reporting tools, automation, and improvements to the broader finance technology environment. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required CPA required Significant public accounting experience, ideally within audit or assurance Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, accounting processes, and internal controls Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and identify key business drivers Interest in expanding beyond traditional audit into transaction, finance, operational, and strategic advisory work Ability to manage multiple engagements and interact confidently with clients Strong written and verbal communication skills Advanced Excel and financial analysis capabilities Experience with M&A, transaction advisory, valuations, technical accounting, forensic accounting, ERP implementations, or finance transformation is beneficial but not required Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a growing, fast-paced advisory environment Ability to travel periodically based on client and engagement requirements Ideal Background The ideal candidate is currently working in public accounting within audit or assurance and has developed strong technical accounting and financial statement fundamentals but is looking for greater variety and exposure. This person may be considering transaction advisory, consulting, corporate finance, or accounting advisory and wants an opportunity where they do not have to choose only one path.
