Job Title: Warehouse Worker – Hospital Materials Department Job Description This role supports the hospital’s materials and supply chain operations by receiving, scanning, stocking, and delivering medical and non-medical supplies throughout the facility. You will work in the hospital’s stockroom and on various floors, using handheld scanners and carts to fulfill orders accurately and efficiently. This is a contract opportunity of approximately two months to cover a leave of absence, with strong potential to extend longer and the possibility of being hired directly. Responsibilities Receive incoming freight and supplies in the hospital stockroom in a timely and accurate manner. Scan incoming inventory into the enterprise resource planning (ERP) or inventory tracking system using handheld scanners. Label and organize products correctly to ensure accurate identification and traceability. Stock hospital supplies in designated locations within the stockroom, maintaining proper rotation and organization. Review orders received from hospital wings, floors, and divisions through the inventory or ERP system. Pick orders accurately using handheld devices and carts, ensuring the correct items and quantities are selected. Place picked items into totes and prepare them for delivery to the appropriate hospital areas. Deliver totes and supplies to the corresponding areas within the hospital, following established routes and procedures. Maintain accurate inventory levels by following stocking, picking, and tracking procedures. Handle physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and loading supplies as required by the types of items received. Follow hospital protocols for working in a sterile or clinical environment, including appropriate handling of materials. Collaborate and communicate professionally with stockroom staff, nurses, doctors, and other hospital personnel. Participate in on-the-job training and shadowing to learn hospital materials procedures and best practices. Adhere to all safety, cleanliness, and compliance standards while working in the hospital and stockroom. Essential Skills Experience with basic warehouse or stocking duties such as receiving, picking, packing, and loading. Ability to use handheld scanners for inventory tracking and order picking. Basic computer skills to navigate inventory or ERP systems. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate scanning, labeling, and order fulfillment. Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, lifting, and moving carts and totes throughout the shift. Reliable time management skills to work scheduled shifts and complete tasks within required timeframes. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with frequent movement between stockroom and hospital floors. Effective communication skills to interact with hospital staff and team members in a professional manner. Additional Skills & Qualifications Entry-level stocking or warehousing experience is suitable; formal warehouse experience is helpful but not strictly required. Previous experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment is a strong plus. Familiarity with sterile or clinical environments and related protocols is highly beneficial. Experience working in a non-union warehouse or materials handling environment is considered an advantage. Ability to learn and follow hospital-specific materials management procedures quickly. Willingness to work a contract assignment of approximately two months, with openness to potential extension. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based inside a hospital in the Salmon Creek area of Vancouver, working exclusively on campus with no off-site deliveries. You will primarily work in the stockroom and on various hospital floors, interacting regularly with patients, doctors, nurses, and stockroom employees. The role follows set shifts of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with an additional swing shift option from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The environment includes a mix of stockroom work and movement through clinical areas, including sterile or controlled spaces. Scrubs are provided by the hospital and are mandatory attire while on duty. New hires receive training and shadow an experienced materials associate to learn the processes, systems, and hospital protocols before working independently. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Vancouver, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
