Location: Phoenix – Hybrid (2 days onsite / 3 days remote)

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Grants Coordinator Senior, the Grant Project Specialist supports the administration and coordination of grants, contracts, and grant-funded programs that benefit veterans and their families throughout Arizona. The role includes grant compliance review, project coordination, administrative support, funding approvals/denials processing, and collaboration with agency partners on veteran support initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and review VDF (Veteran Donation Fund) applications.
• Check applications for compliance and present findings to committees.
• Process veteran funding approvals and denials.
• Support administration of grants, contracts, and grant-funded programs.
• Coordinate grant management and compliance activities.
• Provide technical and administrative support for veteran-related programs.
• Assist with community-based grant initiatives such as:
• Suicide prevention
• Mental health/substance abuse programs
• Employment services
• Trauma treatment training
• Collaborate with agency staff and external partners to identify and pursue grant opportunities aligned with veteran support objectives.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of administrative experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain compliance documentation.
• Local Arizona candidates only.
• Must be available for in-person interviews within 1 week of posting closure.

Work Environment

• Hybrid schedule with flexible onsite days selected by the candidate.
• No travel required.
