Radiology Tech (Full-time 11AM to 9PM or 12Pm to 10PM) Columbia Heights, DC

Summary Radiologic Technologist (X-ray Tech) responsible for departmental functions aligned with PM Pediatrics mission, vision, and goals. An opportunity to apply pediatric urgent care skills under physician supervision. Job Responsibilities Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations. Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake. Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety. Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. Ensure equipment is in good working condition and compliant with applicable laws and regulations. Maintain and document daily quality control of radiology equipment at the start of shift. Document repeat exposures and parent holding log with pocket dosimeter read. Assist in radiology quality assurance program for radiography equipment. Immediately report equipment malfunctions to management team. Help patients in distress by promptly notifying medical staff of emergencies. Collect throat and nasal specimens and process samples for testing. Assist in processing laboratory testing of patient samples and routine QA testing. Apply splints, ace wraps, and DME devices on patients. Provide patients with crutches and proper use education. Be an integral part of the patient care team. Keep exam and x-ray room stocked with adequate supplies. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; report needed changes to management team. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures. Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Enhance health care practice reputation by taking ownership of new and challenging requests; exploring opportunities to add value. Assist patients with complaints and take an active role in service recovery when needed. Qualifications Graduated from a Radiologic Technologist program. Knowledge of medical practice terminology, clinic processes, and procedures. Ability to use sound reasoning and judgment and act calmly in emergencies. Effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Knowledge of digital imaging. Knowledge of electronic health records (eCW preferred).
