Terminal Manager

Job Overview The Terminal Manager oversees all operations at the bulk liquid storage terminal, ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant handling, storage, and transfer of liquid commodities. This role manages personnel, maintains facility integrity, coordinates logistics, implements operational best practices, drives safety culture, optimizes throughput, and supports customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities and Duties Lead, direct, and manage terminal operations, maintenance, and shipping/receiving. Assess issues rapidly and decide solutions, identify improvement opportunities for timely, cost‑effective outcomes. Implement cost‑effective controls over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries. Manage capital asset maintenance and oversee preventive maintenance program for terminal operating equipment. Establish and monitor overall terminal performance, quality standards. Supervise and coordinate terminal staff, including processing time‑off requests, recruitment, performance management, compensation, and corrective action. Ensure staff training per HSEQ, operational, and company‑wide policies and procedures. Plan and coordinate customer service activities with commercial and operations management. Control and minimize labor overtime, repair expenses, and utilities. Maintain terminal equipment, manage repairs/replacements, and monitor condition. Provide leadership and training to achieve company goals. Develop, implement, and manage mandatory regulatory records and ensure record keeping meets regulations and laws. Assist HSEQ representative in enforcing company safety and environmental policies. Approve contractor qualifications with HSEQ and procurement. Ensure accurate payroll timekeeping and related initiatives. Investigate discrepancies and enforce company policies. Coordinate with HR on recruitment, retention, employee relations, performance management, and legal compliance. Prepare operational and capital budget, monitor expenditures within budget. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of terminal/general management experience (or equivalent experience). Minimum of five years in terminal management or related terminal, refinery, or tank vessel experience. Experience in staff management. Knowledge and skill in operating equipment. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Project management knowledge. Must be TWIC eligible. Ability to use hand/power tools and wear safety equipment. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, blueprints, and drawings. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedures. Effective communication and presentation skills; customer service focus. Basic math skills for formulas, tank capacities, volumes, and percentages. Ability to create and monitor budgets and produce cost estimates. Experience evaluating contractors, subcontractors, and vendors. Knowledge of pertinent laws and regulations. Professional demeanor and ability to work with diverse individuals. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Exposure to weather, noise, fumes, grease, oil, noxious odors, cleaning chemicals, paints, glues, solvents; approximately 30% outdoors. Requires standing, bending, stooping, walking, climbing; kneel, crawl, crouch, push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs on occasion; lift up to 25 lbs regularly. Must wear required PPE, including chemical suits, respirators, gloves, boots, face shields and maintain proper hygiene. Must be clean‑shaven for respirator seal and maintain short fingernails for safety and hygiene. Must climb and work on bulk liquid tanks up to 60 feet.
