Location: Waukesha, WI
Work Arrangement: Full Onsite (Day 1)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Detector Embedded Developer with strong expertise in embedded firmware and RTOS development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with VxWorks, U-Boot, Linux, C/C++, and embedded processor development , along with a solid understanding of firmware architecture, diagnostics, and system-level integration.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong embedded firmware/software development experience.
  • Expertise in C/C++ programming for embedded systems.
  • Extensive experience with VxWorks RTOS development and debugging.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • U-Boot bootloader development
    • Bare-metal programming
    • Embedded Linux
    • Python scripting
    • GitLab, Artifactory, Docker
    • Code Composer Studio (CCS)
  • Experience with firmware diagnostics and Power-On Self-Test (POST) development, including:
    • Memory testing
    • ADC voltage/current monitoring
    • Flash programming
    • Hardware interface validation
  • Experience developing interfaces between U-Boot and VxWorks to communicate system health and prognostic monitoring data, including:
    • Over/under-voltage detection
    • Over-temperature monitoring
    • Over-current monitoring
    • Power-good and reset signal status
  • Familiarity with Device Tree configuration and management.
  • Knowledge of SOUP (Software of Unknown Provenance) analysis and SDLC processes.
  • Experience creating and maintaining SDLC and technical documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of embedded systems design and firmware development experience.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, automation, or instrumentation is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional and global teams.
  • Experience delivering high-quality, reliable embedded solutions within project timelines.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and system integration experience.
