About This Role

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced preschool teacher to join our team at a private school that has been serving a small rural community for over 15 years. Our school prides itself on providing exceptional care to our families and offers a unique approach to education, allowing our teachers to be creative and think outside the box. We don't follow the VDOE curriculum, giving our teachers the flexibility to make choices and take ownership of their lesson plans. One of the benefits of working here is the option to choose from a 4 or 5-day work schedule, which can lead to a better work-life balance. This means you'll have a long weekend off every month, without the need to work nights or weekends.

What You'll Do

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining a safe and organized classroom environment
• Designing and implementing engaging lesson plans and daily activities
• Staying up-to-date with the latest educational techniques and best practices, including class observations and collaboration with mentors and coaches
• Providing top-notch supervision and care to the children in your charge
• Fostering positive relationships with staff and families through effective communication
• Presenting a professional image and attitude
• Demonstrating dependability and reliability in your work
• Developing and implementing a routine and schedule to ensure a smooth and efficient classroom experience

Requirements

Applicants must have a minimum of one year's experience working in a licensed facility or school. Prior experience with developmental milestones is a definite plus.
