Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostics: Run computer diagnostics, read OBD-II error codes, and perform hands-on testing to identify engine, transmission, brake, or electrical failures.
- Routine Maintenance: Perform oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, brake pad replacements, and wheel alignments.
- Repairs & Replacements: Remove and replace worn or defective parts (e.g., alternators, suspension components, timing belts, exhaust systems).
- Inspections: Conduct multi-point safety and emissions inspections to verify roadworthiness.
- Documentation & Communication: Clearly explain necessary repairs to service advisors or customers and document all work completed in service logs.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED; completion of a vocational/trade school automotive program preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with modern diagnostic software and power tools.
- ASE certifications are a strong plus (or willingness to obtain).
- Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset.
