Our client, a well-established privately held company, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This role offers excellent exposure to financial reporting, month-end close, account reconciliations, fixed assets, audit support, and general ledger accounting while providing the opportunity to learn from an experienced accounting leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Analyze general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements for management review.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Support year-end audit preparation and respond to auditor requests.
• Prepare property tax filings, business licenses, and other regulatory reporting.
• Assist with financial reporting, special projects, and process improvement initiatives.
• Partner closely with accounting leadership on departmental projects and ad hoc analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Approximately 2+ years of accounting experience preferred; exceptional recent accounting graduates with strong internships or relevant experience will also be considered.
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Corporate or public accounting experience.
• Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
• Exposure to fixed asset accounting, financial reporting, or external audits.
• Experience with an ERP system is a plus.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish)
