EHS Manager

Ericsson

Ericsson Inc. does not sponsor U.S. work authorizations for this job position including U.S. immigration filings for initial and/or change of employer paperwork for H-1's, H-1B1's, E-3's, O-1's, and TN's. This role is a hybrid position with the expectation to work onsite three days a week in the Ericsson office located in Plano, Texas and relocation is not offered for this position. About This Opportunity The EHS Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving Ericsson’s Environmental, Health, Safety, and Well‑Being (EHS) policies, programs, and requirements across the United States. Acting as a subject‑matter expert and trusted advisor, this role strengthens Ericsson’s EHS Management System, ensures compliance with U.S. regulatory requirements, and drives a sustainable safety culture and employee well‑being aligned with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and Ericsson’s Target Zero ambition. The role focuses on EHS governance, systems, data, and culture, partnering closely with leadership and EHS Delivery teams while remaining independent from day‑to‑day operational execution. Responsibilities Establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve Ericsson’s EHS policies, programs, standards, and requirements within the United States. Drive the effectiveness, consistency, and maturity of the EHS Management System, ensuring alignment with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and Ericsson global governance. Interpret and integrate U.S. EHS legislation and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA and environmental regulations) into Ericsson policies, processes, and guidance. Proactively identify EHS risks and opportunities, using data, metrics, and trend analysis to drive prevention‑focused and strategic improvements. Lead and support incident investigations, including serious incidents, ensuring robust root cause analysis, regulatory‑ready documentation, and sustainable learning. Provide expert guidance on environmental aspects and impacts, high‑hazard work controls, OHS maturity assessments, and pre‑job EHS reviews. Monitor EHS performance against targets, identify deviations, and propose corrective and preventive actions aligned with Target Zero. Coordinate and participate in EHS governance forums, safety committees, and leadership reviews to ensure effective communication, engagement, and documentation. Support digitalization, automation, and AI‑enabled initiatives to improve efficiency, consistency, and execution of EHS programs. Contribute to EHS reporting, audits, assessments, and well‑being initiatives, supporting informed leadership decision‑making and competence development. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required to support EHS business operations. Coordinate and lead Ericsson EHS representation to regulatory bodies, industry forums, and external entities as required. Champion a strong safety and well‑being culture through awareness, continuous engagement, and employee empowerment across environment, health, safety and well‑being matters. Skills You Bring (Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree or formally recognized qualification in Environmental Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline. Recognized professional EHS qualification, such as BCSP Certification preferred or ability to quickly obtain (CSP or CEP preferred). Post‑Graduate Degree or MSc in Environmental and/or OHS Management. Equivalent internationally recognized certification. Minimum seven years of experience within Environmental, Health, Safety, and Well‑Being roles. Strong conceptual and practical knowledge of EHS legislation, risk management, Lean Six Sigma practices, and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001. Experience in supporting EHS in manufacturing and services. Valuable Experience Extensive application of EHS theoretical concepts and principles within operational environments. Experience working within global, cross‑functional teams. Experience operating in a dynamic, agile, and fast‑changing environment. Exposure to supplier EHS management and high‑risk operational activities. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job‑related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience. Short‑Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro‑ration rules apply. Health Benefits: Ericsson offers excellent health benefits including the choice of three medical plan options and a dental plan option that allow an employee to select the level of coverage that suits their needs. Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost that Ericsson pays toward the cost of their medical and dental premiums for themselves and eligible covered dependents. Financial Security: Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson match $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson’s full matching contributions of 4%. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short‑term and long‑term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan. Time Off: New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
