Mental Health Therapist - Subacute Program

Therapist Position

Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, the therapist functions as a clinical member of a multidisciplinary team, providing mental health and substance use services including individual and group therapy, to severely and persistently mentally ill clients in an inpatient subacute mental health program.

Essential duties involve conducting clinical assessments, providing direct clinical services, incorporating case management, overseeing discharge planning, providing practical help and support, assessing and treating co-occurring disorders, providing crisis assessment and intervention, developing and updating treatment plans, completing required documentation, participating in outcome management and quality improvement activities, collaborating with the Program Director and Data Manager, maintaining knowledge of policies and procedures, and participating in the Management On-Call Schedule.

Non-essential duties include maintaining professional relationships, enhancing professional skills, demonstrating familiarity with Utah laws, conducting professional life in accordance with standards, maintaining familiarity with behavioral health trends, and performing other functions as necessary.

Qualifications include a clinical master's degree and active licensure in Utah, experience working with individuals diagnosed with a serious mental illness and/or substance use disorder, experience writing treatment plans, goals, and objectives, documenting individual sessions, and insurance authorizations, sound judgment, organization, communication skills, crisis intervention skills, computer literacy, upholding professional boundaries, willingness to accept supervision, CPR and First Aid certification, being at least 21 years of age, possessing a current driver's license, having a good driving record, passing Utah-DHHS – Office of Licensing background screening, and passing a pre-employment drug screen.

Physical demands include the ability to move around the facility, interacting with clients for extended periods, and working in an office environment with potential use of a computer for extended periods of time.
