Physical Therapist - Outpatient Pediatrics - Raceland-Houma-Bayou-River Region

Job Summary This position evaluates patients, develops treatment plans, assesses progress, and ensures that patient needs are met in alignment with care access, experience, and quality metrics. The role also assists in program development and enhancements that meet patient and community needs. Required Education • Bachelor's degree in physical therapy. Required Work Experience • None. Required Certifications Current physical therapy license in the state of practice Eligibility for licensure by examination Reciprocity from another state Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to individuals at varying levels of the patient care process. Excellent judgment and decision‑making skills for addressing a variety of patients and diagnoses. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to remain flexible with fluctuating schedules based on patient demand. Job Duties Performs evaluations and provides treatment programs to facilitate patient‑specific goals. Assesses the patient's response to treatment and recommends treatment plan changes as appropriate. Maintains patient records per documentation standards, policies, and procedures. Attains established productivity levels set by administration, including access to care, patient experience, and quality metrics. Assists in program development and enhancement to meet patient and community needs. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, ensuring privacy, respectful introduction, clear explanations of services or procedures, permission requests, and appropriate communication style. Performs other related duties as assigned. Physical and Environmental Demands • Very heavy work: occasional exertion of 100 pounds or more, frequent exertion of 50 pounds or more, and constant exertion of 20 pounds or more to move objects. • Heavy work: does not exceed the physical demands described above. • Requires maintaining a production rate pace, sometimes with negligible weight, which can be physically demanding. • Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue.
